Trans Tasman Gubbi Gubbi Waka Ama


The Trans Tasman Gubbi Gubbi Waka Ama Championships (TTGGWA) is the only international outrigger championship series held exclusively for junior paddlers in Australia.

This trans-Tasman showdown of the Australian and Oceania junior outrigging calendar attracts hundreds of young paddlers aged between eight and 19 years of age. Hailing from Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific Islands; teams, doubles and individuals race over a three day (29 Sep - 1 Oct) period on the Sunshine Coast’s Lake Kawana. 

Fun, colour, friendships and vibrancy are what defines this event as a must do for young paddlers. A spectacular experience!

Canon Collective Team will travel to Queensland for the Sunshine Coast Photography Festival 13 - 15 July 2018! With the best local tour operators running their experiences and Canon Collective Ambassadors from across the nation on-hand to help with your photography along the way? Setting up camp in Mooloolaba, they will cover, over 3 days more than 20 individual experiences and workshops spread across the beautiful Sunshine Coast from Caloundra to Noosa. Join them at some or all of the activities over the three-day festival, it's set to be the biggest one yet.

Kenilworth Cheese, Wine and Food Fest 2018

AOCRA 2018 National Outrigger Sprint Titles


The Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association’s (AOCRA) National Sprint Titles are a flat water outrigger canoe regatta held for paddlers from all states of Australia. As a pinnacle event in the Australian outrigging calendar, the National Sprint Titles hosts hundreds of competitors and encourages paddlers to compete in all disciplines, which include V1, OC1, OC6 and V12 races. 

This is an action-packed three days held on Lake Kawana, Sunshine Coast from 2 - 4 February.

Ginger Flower and Food Festival



From Friday 19th to Sunday 21st January 2018 the Ginger Factory will burst with colour, showcasing an exquisite range of ornamental gingers and heliconia’s, which thrive in the Sunshine Coast’s sub-tropical conditions. A stunning array of over 3000 plants will be available for sale to festival goers.

The festival will pay a special homage to the long Australian history of Buderim Ginger, spanning 75 years. Today’s booming business started off as a small farming community and ginger growers’ cooperative, expanding over time to one of the world’s largest suppliers of ginger products and beverages.

The 2018 Ginger Flower & Food Festival is a FREE all-weather event that all ages will enjoy!

This PGA "legends" pro-am golf event will see greats of Australian golf descend on the Sunshine Coast (13 - 15 Dec) in a relaxed but professional environment competing for Australia's richest pro-am prize for 2017. 

Australian golfing stars such as Ian Baker-Finch, Peter Senior and Roger Davis will be playing alongside amateur golfers on the Sunshine Coasts' best two resort courses - Twin Waters Golf Club and Pelican Waters Golf Club.

Sunshine Coast Marathone


Sunshine Coast Marathon and Community Running Festival is one of the most-loved running festivals in Australia. Since its inception the 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon has raised over $1 million for charity and community groups.

West End to Broadway – in the Castle


The Underground Opera Company returns to the Sunshine Coast in July to deliver another concert of musical theatre showstoppers with an exceptional cast of world class performers.

The weekend of three shows from July 28 – 30 will be another exciting season as part of Underground Opera Company’s 10th anniversary year, held in the intimate setting of the Sunshine Castle’s Banquet Hall in Bli Bli.

The performances will mark a highlight of 2017, with repertoire featuring a number of celebrated pieces from productions made famous on London’s West End and New York’s Broadway, with choreography set to dazzle, by Sunshine Coast favourite Dale Pengelly (Hot Shoe Shuffle, West End; Singin’ in the Rain, Hong Kong, Singapore; The Boy From Oz, Australian Tour).

Mary Valley Art Festival 2017


The Mary Valley Art Festival began in 2000 in Imbil, the largest community the Mary Valley. It is an annual event held from 29 June till 2nd July 2017. Thursday Opening night is a fantastic celebration bringing together artists, judges, sponsors and the community over wine, fine food and entertainment. 

The festival is known for its friendly and professional approach, attracting quality art work showcasing the diversity of artists from our region and South East Queensland. The festival runs over the weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and is an easy day trip for visitors from the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Hervey Bay. Workshops and demonstrations are held over the same weekend so be sure to check the program to extend your stay. 

The popular People’s Choice Awards are held on the Sunday along with the Bush Haven Youth Art Award presentations with licenced bar and refreshments.

Sunshine Coast Mother's Day Classic


The first regional Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic was held in 2007, and since then more and more dedicated volunteers have staged more than 400 events in every corner of Australia. The Sunshine Coast event offers a four kilometre walk and a four and eight kilometre run around the Brightwater Estate lake. Raise money for Breast Cancer research by the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This is the twentieth anniversary for the Mothers Day Classic and they have raised 30 million dollars to date.
